The Walter Cronkite School of
Journalism and Mass Communication
The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication is a nationally recognized
leader for young professionals.
Located on Arizona State University’s Downtown Phoenix campus, the journalism school brings real world experiences to its students every day with a
focus on innovation, integrity and entrepreneurship as its leading goals.
Students learn from and work alongside professionals in the print, digital, broadcast and public relations fields in 12 full-immersion professional programs.
The school uses a “teaching hospital” technique through its integrated programs with Cronkite News at Arizona PBS. In 2014, Arizona PBS joined the Cronkite school family, and the journalistic “teaching hospital” technique truly began.

"Hooked Rx: From Prescription to Addiction" is a follow-up to the 2015 award-winning “Hooked: Tracking Heroin's Hold on Arizona” documentary on heroin that reached more than 1 million Arizonans through 126 combined TV and radio stations.
